SA Group recently welcomed two students from St Augustine’s Catholic College in Trowbridge to take part in a week-long work experience. The students had the opportunity to shadow most business functions including HR, Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing, and also to learn about the bidding process. They experienced a regular induction process taking part in various training courses including Health and Safety and First Aid, and within Marketing had the opportunity to present about a subject of their choice.

Lee Gale, Head of Sales and Marketing at SA Group said: “We were so pleased to support these students with their work experience and give them an insight into the work we do, and the culture of our growing, employee-owned company. The two students were bright and enthusiastic, asking perceptive questions throughout the week. It was a pleasure to have them with us, and we hope to offer this opportunity to more students in the future.”

The students had the following comments:

Anya Briddon: “It was great to experience a working week at SA Group. I had the chance to find out about all areas of the company including Sales, Marketing, HR and Finance, and I took part in a variety of tasks which made it really enjoyable. It gave me a much clearer idea of what I’d like to do as a career.”

Amelia Hendrickx: “My work experience week at SA Group was extremely valuable. I learned about the day-to-day activities of a business and the different types of roles within it, and also about the company culture which was fascinating. Each day was different, and I took part in a number of activities which gave me inspiration for future revision techniques. The team were so welcoming, and it seems like a really nice place to work.”
