SA Group have donated 50 general admission sports tickets to SSAFA – the forces charity, which will be awarded to serving and former military personnel at MOD St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan through their HIVE information network and through their Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Clubs network in South Wales. The tickets can be used for Glamorgan’s Vitality Blast T20 home fixtures, or any home County Championship games in September and One-Day cup games in August.
The donation complements the values that both SA Group and Glamorgan hold which is to proudly support veterans and their families. Glamorgan have been running “Tickets for Troops” for around 5 years and within that time have donated over 100 tickets, with this offering increasing every year.
Annie Lawrie, Regional Fundraising Officer for Wales said: “We’re so grateful to SA Group for their kind donation of these tickets. It’s great to have their ongoing support and we’ve already had a lot of interest from keen cricket fans who are very pleased to accept this generous offering.”
A spokesperson for SA Group said: “SSAFA offers crucial support to serving personnel, veterans, and their families in their time of need. At SA Group we proudly work alongside veterans, many of which have had positive experiences with SSAFA, therefore it was the clear choice for us to donate these tickets. We hope they’re well received and that the matches are really enjoyable.”
