Capabilities Employed

The Challenge
The Defence Digital team were tasked to deliver a project for a secure, resilient, federated Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) capability that can integrate and bridge between the UK and an international Partner of Choice (POC). The capability was to replace the secure ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) telephone which was due to become obsolete and unsupported. Without the enhancement, the network would become unprotected and important data would be put at risk.
The Solution
The team at SA Group conducted workshops with the Programme stakeholders and POC project counterparts in order to develop the high level requirement into a defined Statement of Requirement (SOR).
The SA Group team managed the project from start to finish – coordinating activities, setting priorities and establishing clear lines of communication for all the project stakeholders. They created a comprehensive P3M plan, this included a thorough understanding of the current risk level and implementing mitigation plans to ensure the project was delivered on schedule.
'This is the first of type VOIP delivery for us and is a big achievement, so well done! Thanks for all your efforts in making sure we achieved this within our milestone date, I know this was not easy at times and it's down to your dedication and professionalism that we have hit the target.'
– MOD Programme Manager
The Result
SA Group's input successfully delivered secure VOIP interoperability services for Defence Digital, enhancing international Partners of Choice (POC) capabilities. The team provided Project Support, Project Management, Service Management/Integrated Logistic Support and Technical Support.
Despite the complexity of the solution involving multiple UK and international locations required for the delivery, and having to overcome the change to working practices brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, the SA Group team exceeded expectations by delivering the project early. This was achieved by intensive and constant engagement with the suppliers and project stakeholders.
